Malolos Week 4

Dear Family,

This week was great! We were able to teach this one lady who is Buddhist and I didn't think she would be super receptive but she is! We really got to her at the right time.  I'm really really grateful for timing. She really is receiving it well, and she's keeping her commitments.  I think she was confused about her own religion and felt like she wasn't being blessed even though she was doing everything that she was supposed to as a Buddhist. Now she's is receiving a lot more blessings, she says since she has turned to God with her problems, and she said that she feels like the spirit of Christ has entered her heart, which I think is really beautiful actually. I think she could be a strong member and she finds a lot of peace in what we teach. I'm really excited for her, I hope that someday she can enter the temple with her family.

We have just been really blessed this week, temporally and spiritually!  We've had some pretty low lows, but always right after that we've had our highest highs. Its been awesome. I'm grateful for the blessings of being a missionary, and how it blesses my family, I'm grateful for the blessings that come from knowing that we have a Savior and that He knows us, and from the blessings of being a member and from the covenants I've made at baptism and in the temple. I'm grateful for trials because at least they're for His sake. We have a sweet life here on earth actually, dahil sa kanya.(Because of Him).

Malolos Week 3

Dear Family,

Hello! This week was good, we were able to find lots of people. Obviously a big issue here in the Philippines is getting people to keep commitments, so they didn't come to church which was sad, but we'll keep working with them. I try to think of how Jesus Christ would do it.  He would help them understand, and He wouldn't give up on them. That helps me stay patient with people. I'm grateful for Preach My Gospel this week.  It's written really simply in there the How's, What's and Why's, so that and the scriptures should set us up for success, but it really comes down to if people are willing to take those steps that will bring them eventually to the temple. I've really enjoyed teaching The plan of salvation this week.  People always connect to that and its appealing because its the best gift that God can give us. Making that the end goal, not just baptism, is how I think I can help people understand commitments better. God is a God of promises. When we do what He says, He promises to help and bless us. Its awesome.

Thanks for everything,

Sister Fuell

Malolos Week 2

Dear Family,

This general conference was really, really good!!  And really needed for me, at least. I received a lot of revelations about what kind of missionary/member I want to be, what kind of parent I want to be and possibly what kind of job I would like to go into. I can honestly say that after the Sunday's sessions, my heart was completely full. I haven't felt that way in a long time. I'm really grateful for the spirit. I have a lot of things I will need to be working on based on those revelations. I also felt the spirit protecting us a lot this week. I always feel lucky that we're watched over. I just feel lucky to be a missionary in general. I'm extra grateful for a living prophet, revelation and covenants. I feel like for me, I need to review and pay attention to the covenants I've made with Heavenly Father, and the covenants He's made with me. I'm really excited for this next week!!  We have got lots of ideas from the STAs (Sister Training Assistants) that we want to try out, and we get lots of ideas from members too. I'm grateful that we don't have to do this all on our own, I don't think I'd be able to do all of this without the help from this side of the veil and the other.

Thanks for all you do!!.

San Jose North - Week 6

Dear Family,

This week was good, we were able to get a baptismal date for Sister Monina, someone we've been working with since the beginning of our time here in San Jose North.  We're really excited for her!! She has a lot of support and we think she's finally ready.  She wants to wait until November 30 when her daughter is here in the Philippines.

Sister Spencer and I have been listening to lots of conference talks getting ready for conference! We're so lucky to hear it. I've been preparing a lot of questions. I'm excited for this next transfer too!  It's kind of cool that we get to hit the reset button, another chance to try open an area in Malolos with Sister Spencer. We have a lot of good ideas we want to try. I really love being with her!  She's a really good example to me.

Time here is really moving fast, I've already hit my 4 months the other day.  My time here is so short. I just want to get it right.  I've become very aware lately about how quickly time moves. This week I've really learned about how to role with the punches.  Its been hard with so many changes but exciting at the same time. I have a feeling this is how the rest of my life will be. Also its been cool to look around at all the things here in the Philippines.  I know that after my mission I would like to get involved in humanitarian work for the church.  I've been coming up with ideas to help. But of course, the best way to help is to help them receive the Gospel.  I know that the Gospel can literally remove people out of poverty.  And if by the will of God, someone has to stay in poverty, I know that Heavenly Father will "ease the burdens that are upon [their] shoulders, that even [they] cannot feel them upon [their] backs [...] [and] strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and [...] submit cheerfully with patience to all the will of the lord." -Mosiah 24:14-15.

Grateful we have Good News. And that we get to share it!

Don't forget to think of questions for General Conference!! Invite everyone you know to come and see it! It's easy to be a missionary when you let the prophet do the talking haha. Love you Mom, and others ;)
