Malolos Week 12

This week was really a good week!!  We taught a good friend of ours Sharmaine, and we showed her the Book of Mormon Video about if Adam and Eve would not have fallen, then they would have remained in the Garden and known no Joy, and it went really well! I love that this is something that is kind of unique to our church.  It made a lot of sense to her, and we told her that God has a purpose and plan for each of his children, and she knows it! The spirit was really strong, we were all pretty teary eyed. I'm grateful to be present for times like that. It really make everything worth it, as we were teaching about joy, I felt it!! It washed over all of us really quickly. I asked her what she felt and she told us that she was just so happy, and we all just sat and basked in it. We told her this was the spirit, and that He teaches truth, and bears witness of God and His son Jesus Christ. She knows its true. We taught her the rest of the plan of salvation the next lesson. We just need to get her to come to church with us and pray to know if its true.  I know that when she does, she'll be ready to feel that joy anytime! We are so lucky to be missionaries. I'm so excited to train tomorrow! I don't have a lot of expectations, so I don't feel too nervous yet, but I do know its a big responsibility. I'm excited to start!

Thanks for all you do!

Malolos Week 11

I'm so glad you guys had a good week! Things are good here tho! Probably better than they have been like ever, not because we're having a lot of success haha because we kinda aren't BUT because my point of views have changed. I'll expound:

This week was great! We found 34 new people to teach, we're working on quantity, because if we have a large pool of people to choose from, eventually we'll find some that are ready to hear our message and ready to make commitments.

The highlight of my week was that I was able to learn more about the Atonement, and about myself. I reached a point where I couldn't really progress unless I humbled myself and made a change. That really changed a lot for me. I hit a point so low that I had no other choice, but to reach out to the hands that were stretched out to me the whole time. I know that my Savior lives, He really is the only way. We can't hide from God, whether or not we like it.  We accepted the task to come to earth, to learn and to grow, and to eventually become like Him and our Heavenly Father. There is no other way, in the Book of Mormon, Alma the younger said: (Alma 36)

"15 Oh, thought I, that I could be banished and become extinct both soul and body, that I might not be brought to stand in the presence of my God, to be judged of my deeds.  "

meaning he thought that this was the only other option, not existing. He felt so much pain that he wished that he never existed. That really is the only other escape from sin, but its not possible, death only separates us from our bodies, not from our sins or our personal responsibility.

Once he repented, through Jesus Christ, he felt so much happiness; as equal, and as opposite as his pain. He was talking to his son and he said,

"21 Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy."

If any of you are suffering, in any way, I would just like to say that there is a way to feel peace, and comfort and belonging or whatever it is that you are needing personally. I know it because I know Jesus Christ lives, and that when he was here on earth that was his mission. To save people who wanted to be saved. This saving is infinite and eternal and we really can't afford to live another day taking it for granted! I'm grateful for the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ so we know how to change and repent. Christmas starts with Christ.

Every day Heavenly Father is reaching out to us. He loves us, He wants us back, He really is our Father. I'm so glad to be a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I know that he knows me, and I know that He doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

Sorry that was a lot! Gotta go, love you guys:) please pray for the Filipinos!!
