Malolos Week 18

Hello! This week was a good one, its getting hot here! Parang summer daw. But we're okay, it just makes me sleepy haha. As far as news goes, a cat came into our house and ate my assorted nuts and some bread, and I chased it around with a mop. It freaked me out because it meowed really loud while I we were praying.

Dang Cat ate my bread!

Things are good here, we're trying to find out if people are really interested in committing or if they just like lessons and that stuff. We're working on it.  I have faith that we'll find people who are ready to commit and make some changes. This week I had been thinking a lot about the lost sheep, The Prodigal Son, and I think its a lost ring (?) parables in the bible. The reason I love those parables is because the message is the same, "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost".
A member, Sister Rasalan and me!

It does not matter why, or how it was lost. It only matters that it is back. Heavenly Father is willing to accept all of us if we accept Him. I think everyone can relate to the Prodigal Son story, even if they are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ. I would like whoever is reading this to know that Jesus Christ can heal all wounds!  We have a lot of unfair things happen to us here, sometimes its because of our own actions or the actions of others. I know I'm only 20 years old, and my life is pretty good and people could argue that I don't understand because of my life experience, and perhaps some of that is true. I really don't understand some situations, but I know there is one who does. He loves us. Ask for help, its there!

Malolos Week 17

No email from Janaye.  She is doing great!!  We were a little concerned about the Taal Vacano being a little too close but Janaye is fine and hasn't slowed down.  She loves the people there and hopes and prays for miracles all the time.  Here are some recent pictures she sent.

Malolos Week 16

Thanks for the update! Sorry things were wild while I called, its hard to call when we're on the go. The temple was good though, I felt a lot of peace. I miss the temple haha.

This week was good! We taught a man named Jun.  He's cool!  He's a seaman (works on cruise ships) so for some parts of the year he's not home. His wife and son are members but he keeps telling us not yet for himself, and his wife is really funny about i.  She's always getting after him to come to church and stuff like that haha. The other day he had a lot of questions about the Book of Mormon and we had a lot of answers for him.  It was fun. He's a really cool dude and all he's missing is that he just needs to ask God if its all true.  He's understanding the lessons and he tells us that he's been taught by missionaries for years now but that it wasn't until we taught him that he understood. I was thinking about that, and I thought about 2 Nephi 31:3 Which talks about how "the Lord God giveth light unto the understanding; for he speaketh unto men according to their language, unto their understanding." and how at that time, the spirit  helped him understand what he needed to know. It wasn't because of us, and it wasn't because of him.  It was because of timing and the spirit of understanding. And I know that this was a blessing for Jun and his wife and son. Afterward we bore testimony that Jesus lives, and he continues to speak to us, and that Heavenly Father is waiting for him, and so is his wife and son. I think this touched him. We asked his son to give the closing prayer and when he prayed he prayed that someday they will all be sealed in the temple as a family, and my heart ached a little bit. But I feel like Jun could come around.  We have a window of time that we can help him and I think that he could get to that point. I love that family, and I'm grateful that they let me be apart of their lives for a time.

Just grateful to be here in general!!  The need is great and we as missionaries have a lot to give!! Especially that mabuting balita, na meron tayong isang tagapagligtas at mahal niya tayo talaga.

Malolos Week 15

Hello Happy New Year everyone:} It's been a good one this 2019. I'm pumped that I get to spend almost all of my 2020 in the Philippines! New Years here is nuts!!  The fireworks here are like sticks of dynamite and people are just hanging out drinking fermented Coconut juice.

One thing that's been on my mind lately is how everyone is so happy that they can get a fresh start with the new year, but that's actually just a huge prank because we actually get a fresh start anytime we waaaant. This is by and through, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and we can all get that New Year, freshly shaven feeling, anytime we are willing to submit our will to Heavenly Father, which in reality is the only thing we can actually give to Him that is ours. Its the Mabuting Balita! We've got a Savior, who loves us enough to take on every mistake, every awkward encounter, every mess up that we have. We really are so loved, its super cool.

A large evidence of this love is the Book of Mormon!  Really take time to read this.  It will change how you see others and yourself. We're lucky to have it! People in earlier times had to rely on other things but we get the Book of Mormon, which is hundreds of years of testimonies and teachings we can apply to ourselves, even to those that can't read, we read it to them. It is so so important that we are receiving spiritual strength from the Book of Mormon daily, if not, we are living below our privileges.

I know the Book of Mormon is true, and I hope you're all reading it and that you all had a great new year!!!

Ingat po kayo,

Sis Fuell
