Week 3 Camarin Zone

This week was really good! We had the wedding of Sister Susana and Brother Arriel and it was perfect! I'm so glad that they had the faith to get married and eventually get baptized! They were so excited. This was my first baptism and it was so awesome, I know that if Heavenly Father sent me here just to help with that baptism than it was worth it- but our work is still going on, we are on the path to weekly baptisms! And by people who are progressing so much!!  They keep their commitments and they love going to church.  It's funny because they are the ones who are fellow-shipping members rather than the other way around, I love it so much. It was also a blessing to see this couple take the sacrament for the first time together; they seemed so happy. I feel lucky to be here and to be apart of their lives.

Because we were so busy with the wedding and the baptism this week I thought we wouldn't be able to teach a lot of lessons, and we did have less lessons than usual but again, people were just coming out of the woodwork.  We found these two older ladies while walking to another appointment and we didn't have time to talk to them so we gave them a Plano ng Kaligtasan (Plan of Salvation) pamphlet, and when we walked back from our appointment to our next, they were all sitting around reading it.  It made me so happy, just that even the little effort that we put out is received.  It's so cool.

The other day I was thinking about what it would be like to come back and visit not as a missionary here and I think it would kind of stink.  I would love to visit the members and I love it here, but it would be weird to come back not as a missionary.  I realize why I love this place the most is because everyday we get to teach people about God and how much he loves everyone; no matter their circumstances, and about how he sent His Son, to come and save all of us, and I get to watch people change their lives through that love that comes from the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I thought that when I received my mission call to the Philippines it was because I've been so privileged my whole life and Heavenly Father wanted to humble me, and this has been humbling, BUT I now know that I am continuing to be privileged, by getting to know people here and getting to be apart of their path to Eternal life, and it really really touches my heart.  It's hard to explain over email. haha. But yeah things are good, I love it here, I'm ready to do better next week and I'm so glad Heavenly Father shows me how every day.

Anyways, love you all, have the best week!!

Week 2 Camarin Zone

Me with Sister Espartero in my first area - The Camarin Zone
This week was soo good. We found 16 investigators and they are all the coolest people. Life here is good!  The work is hard but obviously rewarding, and the everyday stuff is also fun still too.

Me and sister Espartero are still getting along great!  She's a really good trainer, super cool, super obedient. The other day we found a little boy with a tack in his toe, and we helped him get it out and disinfect it. I love that we just get to teach and serve all day everyday.  I honestly like who I am out here and I love love the Filipinos!  They are so kind!! And their hearts are so ready to here about the Gospel and Jesus ChristI really love teaching too.  I'm still not very good at it but I see sister Espartero do it and it gives me motivation that eventually I can be a missionary like her,  but in my own way😎 But yeah things are good and I'm really having a great time. I'm doing my best to do these three things and it helps me stay focused:

1) Be prayerfully diligent (in finding, teaching, studying, everything i can apply it too)
2) Be obedient (when I'm obedient with the schedule and other rules we work more effectively)
3) Notice tender mercies (like when someone gives you a dragon fruit for free because they know you've never tried one)

And these have kept me on the roll for a minute, I don't think it works for everyone but it works for me.  And i think these can be applied to my life after my mission too, so i think that means that its good.

Anyways, being a missionary is fun, and hard and super cool all at the same time.

Love you all!!

First Week in the Quezon City North Mission

First Picture

My week has been SO good. I love my companion!! She's the coolest.  She's a Filipino and I'm the fourth person shes trained, so shes pretty good at this. She's also super obedient and its really good for me because I do my best when we're sticking to what we need to do. I love everything about it her!  Just going to appointments all day is so cool!  Teaching is way fun and right now we mostly are teaching kids,  but they totally get it and they love learning about the ebanghelyo ni jesucristo (Gospel of Jesus Christ).  So its pretty cool.

The food here is waaay good too!!   Halo is my favorite dessert now (you guys will have to look it up). And the bananas are better here, and every other fruit too. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to skate here but its way too busy for that.  It's always packed in the streets and there are no driving laws so its kinds crazy. But its actually really safe too.  I like to think of it as organized chaos, because all of the Americans say that they've seen maybe 1 small fender bender the whole time they've been here, and its pretty common to see accidents in the US. We also went to to the mall today and its huge!!  It's gotta be the biggest mall I've ever seen.  Its almost like it has no end, its kinda creepy.

But things here are cool.  Everyone is super nice and ready to here our message we have and I feel the spirit every time we teach and it's really cool to teach the first vision and watch it click for people.  It's so exciting!!  It might sound weird but its like low key adrenaline I get from it.  The spirit is so strong!  We taught the plan of salvation the other day and I'm only picking up maybe every third word that's being said but this guy we were teaching was just sitting there, and sister Espartero asked him what he thought about it, and he said he felt enlightened and I just think its cool because whenever we teach the plan of salvation or the plan of happiness it almost seems familiar to the person we're teaching and then they just get it. Its the coolest!! We had 11 people come to church with us yesterday too. It was nuuuts.

But yeah anyways, I'm having a great time!  The time is flying by fast for me and I'm getting freaked about the thought of leaving because i really, really love it here and I feel like a new born baby because everything is so new haha and i cant really talk as much as i would like to haha.

Anyways, have an amazing week :) love youuuu
