This
week was good, it was full of rain, smoke and a bunch of santos, like always
haha!! Transfers were this week and Sister Spencer and I are staying together for another transfer :)
I
learned a lot about the plan of salvation this week! A lot of our people we
were teaching had a lot of questions about Ang plano ng kaligtasan (The Plan of Salvation). I learned a
lot about how it's clear to me that it was a good thing that Adam and Eve to chose
to eat the fruit, but it's not very clear to others, of course. I was thinking
about how that's very unique doctrine we have compared to other christian
beliefs. I love that we know this because of the scriptures but particularly the Book of Mormon. We know that
there was a plan for Adam and Eve, and us too, and that God is perfect and
doesn't make mistakes, and that it wasn't just a coincidence that we are all
here.
I was also thinking this week about President Nelson's closing remarks from General Conference, and to how we all need a testimony of Joseph Smith and what he saw and heard that day in 1820 in the Sacred Grove. It has become very mahalaga (important) to me. As a missionary you teach the first vision in 1820 dozens of times a week, and I don't get tired of it. I feel happy that I get to tell people that Heavenly Father still speaks to His children, and that the heavens are not sealed. He loves us just as He loved people during biblical times. I love talking about the blessings that come from the restoration in these days, and that we have Another Testament of Jesus Christ where we can find peace, for ourselves and for our families, a place where we can find pure doctrine on how to repent and about the nature of God and Jesus Christ. Its really cool!! I'm also really grateful for the plan of salvation which is mentioned in the Bible, explained further in the Book of Mormon and continues in the Doctrine and Covenants.
At the end of every lesson, we always invite everyone to pray about our message, to know if its true or not. I know that anyone who sincerely asks Heavenly Father, and willing to act on their answer when they receive it, will receive it. Alam ko na mahal Niya tayo, ito ay kanyang simbahan dito sa mundo.
