Malolos Week 7

Dear Family,

This week was good! Hard but good. We seemed to have knocked almost every door in one of our areas.  We were really trying to get in to talk but it wasn't quite working. We were walking pass this one house, and we decided to walk back the way we came, not for any reason, but when we did there was this man standing there behind his gate, and he asked if we were Mormons. I said yes and asked if he was too.  This is my joke because most of the time people say no, and I ask them if they want to know more. But he said yes, and that he's been inactive for almost 30 years, and that last week he was praying and wondering if he should go back. I asked him why now, and he said that he feels like he needs to grow up and stop slacking off.  Which made me laugh because this man is in his 50s. He's really educated, and pretty well off actually.  Most Philippians of his status wouldn't give us the time of day. He wants us to come back and teach his wife, and he bought us bananas and some drinks and invited us to get to know his neighbor, this older lady. I think to him the gospel is that pearl of great price.  I don't know what this man has been through, but I think he's willing to give it all up so he can come back. It was a blessing we met him. I could see him becoming a bishop one day. We're excited to teach him this week.

It's interesting that we ended up at that place, at that time, but its also not a coincidence either.

Thanks for reading!

Two members from our ward.  The boy will be receiving his mission call in a week or two and the girl wants to go on a mission when she turns 19.  She is now 18.

This little boy came over and sat by me and pulled out his container and it had a beetle in it.  I just had to get a picture of him.

And the beetle.  (Here you go Uncle Steve)
